Christina Perri - Human

I found this song when i was having a reflective day. There are a number of reasons why I like this song;

1. There isn't hundreds of things taking place - the focus is always on C.Perri and she's giving the song an emotional link with how she is portraying the character she is trying to put forward.

2.  The use of the lighting - the flashing makes it appealing and exciting. As an viewer I think it added to the powerfulness of the song and the message the song is trying to send.

3. The Message - the lyrics ' I'm Only Human, I Crash and I Break Down' and 'I can do it, I can do it, I'll get through it' gives the message that you are only human and your abilities are not endless and there are somethings you will struggle with but thats ok because every human goes through it.

Foster and Allen - Galway Girl

Coming from an irish background, i was brought up on country music and this recent release of Galway Girl attracted my media eye as it has black and white effects which gives the video a classic look and fits into the conventions of my genre where the song can be performed in a studio. 

The beat is good and for me i think it would be easy to edit and match clips to the beat which is handy if anyone ever wanted to make a video out of it. 

Somewhere Only We Know

The child in me will always love watching this video. Originally it is an advert for John Lewis Christmas Advert but Lily Allen uses it now for the song video. 
I love the animations of the video and it makes me feel all warm inside. 

The effects of going from drawing to the colour and the movement of the animals are great. 

Storyboarding

So we've come to the point of the course where we have started to STORYBOARD!! 

We thought last year was hard but this year has trumped it!! There is so much more planing that goes into every frame and trying to link the lyrics with our ideas. We also have 4 individual backgrounds that we want to incorporate but then we have the dilemma of how much of the verse we should use and which order we want the backgrounds to go in. Also we have to figure out how we will link the two sides of the individuals and how we will move on to the next person.

We have a rough idea of when we want the lip syncing to take place but also we need to figure out how much of it and the location of the lip syncing whether it be at the table or in another location.

Beyoncé - Pretty Hurts

Another one of our collective identity is WOMEN, Beyonce's song by Pretty Love represents the struggles that women go through in order to fit in to societies expectations and the effect that it has on them.

from a technique area, the effects are really good how the editors are able to sync the old videos with the lip syncing. 

Music Inspiration Video's.

As part of our weekly session in school, we've been looking at other videos to take inspiration from whether its by the technique, the meaning of the song or other features... 

In our collective identity area, we watched the film Harry Brown in which Plan B features. This Plan B song is a great song with amazing camera work & techniques which clearly shows the stereotypes of youths today..

Genre Spidergram

It is important when constructing our video and when we are starting to storyboard our idea's that we are aware of all the genre constructions and details in order for it to conform and not move away from the chosen genre. 

Record Company Reply

Looking through my email last night, I realised that we received a reply back from SONY ENTERTAINMENT! Admittedly I wasn't sure if we'd get a reply so I'm extremely happy that we have been granted permission to use Chloe Howl's 'Rumour'. Of course there are some regulations that the company has set but its nothing that can affect our coursework as that it is what we specified for.
