Framing and Composition

- Arrange your shot to complement the focal point.
- Your main focus needs attention
- The space around the focal point becomes equal - more formal. 
- You have to consider how you will draw your audience into the shot. 

Rule of Thirds




Objects of interest are shown where the lines intersect. Below are a few examples from our music video.  







Eye Line Rule 


Eyes should be kept roughly 1/3 of the way down from the top of the frame. 


















Leading Space 

There should be more space in the direction that the individual is looking than behind them. This makes a more dramatic shot.  









Lines 


Lines play an important role in composition. Diagonal lines are more dynamic and create a sense of movement.
