Intertextuality

Intertextuality is an important aspect to consider when coming up with your video storyline. Although we did not include it in our video, I still think it's important to blog about.

Julia Kristeva who states that "any text is the absorption and transformation of another.

Example - Taylor Swift - Love Story

In this video, Taylor Swift refers to a fairytale and the literature Romeo and Juliet. This video refers to the stereotypical story of the girl admiring the boy and the girl getting her prince charming at the end. This is represented by Swift being dressed in a bridal/long white dress with the stylish hairstyle and the boy being dressed in old fashioned smart clothing who imitates the prince of her life. This video features a castle which also is a reference to the fairytale.
